December is around the corner and the countdown to Christmas is coming sooner than you think!
Why don’t you create a unique Advent calendar this year?
Essentials
For this DIY, you will need:
- our free template to download below
- a tree branch
- cardboard paper or 24 toilet paper rolls
- glitter paper
- a ruler
- a pencil
- tissue paper
- tape
- a pair of scissors
- some string
- fishing thread
- glue
- a star-shaped hole punch
- and… many surprises!
Steps

Step 1: cut a 15 x 9.5 cm piece of paper.2
Step 2: roll the paper in order to make a tube and tape it.3
Step 3: cut a 22 x 14 cm piece of tissue paper.4
Step 4: roll it around the tube and tape it.5
Step 5: put a surprise or a treat inside the tube.6
Step 6: cut two 30 cm long strings.7
Step 7: tie the excess of tissue paper to make a surprise cracker.8
Step 8: download and print the template, then cut number 1.9
Step 9: glue it on the surprise cracker.10
Step 10: repeat the last steps for the 23 others... Keep going!11
Step 11: cut two 70 cm long strings. Tie them together, then tie each end to the tree branch.12
Step 12: cut around 50 cm of the fishing thread and tie it to the middle of the branch, then tape it to the cracker.13
Step 13: to add some decorations to your calendar, punch stars in the glitter paper.14
Step 14: fix them of the fishing thread to add some magic to your calendar!
