For this DIY, you will need :

  • a cycling helmet
  • 2 paper plates of 18 cm Ø
  • a big piece of cardboard of 60 x 18 cm
  • a piece of cardboard of 15 x 20 cm
  • glue
  • a paint brush
  • masking tape
  • a cutter
  • scissors
  • kitchen towel paper
  • cling film
  • a transparent yellow plastic sleeve
  • and… paint markers in red, yellow, and black

Step 1: if your helmet has a front cap, take it off.

Step 2: then, wrap the helmet in cling film.

Step 3: strengthen the inside parts with some masking tape.

Step 4: then, wrap it up with some kitchen paper and coat it with glue.

Step 5: glue the cardboard piece on the neck part and the paper plates on each side.

Step 6: cut out three pieces of cardboard (4cm wide and, for the length, from the neck to the front of the helmet).

Step 7: overlap the three strips to make one and glue the big cardboard strip in the middle of the helmet.

Step 8: wrap the strip with white paper.

Step 9: cover it all up with some kitchen towel paper and glue.

Step 10: then, paint it all in white to obtain homogeneous textures and tones.

Step 12: cut out the visor according to the template.
