Create a jaw-dropping space rocket piñata for your little one’s birthday and impress all of their friends!

DIY Space Rocket Pinata

For this DIY, you will need:

  • our free template that you can download below
  • blue, red, white and orange crepe paper
  • glitter paper
  • thick paper
  • a cutter
  • some glue
  • scissors
  • a pencil
  • scotch tape
  • cardboard
  • and… some string

Step 1: download and print the template. Then, outline 33 x 35 cm rectangle on some thick cardboard.

Step 2: draw 4 vertical lines and mark the folds in order to have the to ends of the cardboard meet.

Step 3: once the cardboard is folded, scotch the two ends together.

Step 4: cut out some strips of crepe paper and make little fringes on all of the length.

Step 5: glue the strips on the whole surface of the cardboard.

Step 6: for the wing tips, display the template on some cardboard and outline it with a pen. Cut it out.

Step 7: to cover up the whole wing tip, repeat steps 4 and 5 with some blue crepe paper. Glue them at the bottom of the rocket.

Step 8: using some thick paper, create a cone and fasten it with scotch tape at the top of the rocket.

Step 9: to cover up the cone, repeat steps 4 and 5 with red crepe paper.

Step 10: cut out a circle in some glitter paper and a smaller circle in thick white paper. Then, glue the white circle on the glittery one and glue them both to the rocket.

Step 11: outline the bottom of the space rocket on some thick paper.

Step 12: cut out the shape and punch a little hole in the center to insert the string. To finish, tie a little knot.

Step 13: fill the piñata with candy.

Step 14: apply a little bit of glue at the bottom and close up the piñata.

Step 15: cut out two rectangles in orange and red crepe paper. Cut one end into a point and cut out some fringes.

Step 16: glue the two strips at the bottom of the piñata.
