This time, we are making a pretty owl-bison-bear totem from 3 metal tins and coloured paper.
Your little ones can put all their treasures in these pretty boxes!
Essentials
For this DIY, you will need:
our free printable template to download below
3 metal tins
coloured paper
colouring markers
paint (pink, yellow and taupe)
scissors or a box cutter
pinking shears or a border punch tool
and… strong glue
Steps
1
Step 1: paint the top and the bottom of the 3 metal tins. 2
Step 2: cut out stripes of paper that will cover the tins (of size of the original label) and leave an edge to assemble the boxes on top of each other. Tip: use a piece of thread to measure the length of the stripe needed 😉 3
Step 3: print out the template and transfer the elements that you wish onto tracing paper (3 sizes of the elements on the template correspond to different sizes of tins). 4
Step 4: trace the elements on different colours of paper and cut them out. 5
Step 5: decorate the elements and the stripes with colouring markers. 6
Step 6: make colourful stripes of paper with pinking shears of at least 1 cm width to decorate the top and/or the bottom of the tins. 7
Step 7: glue the paper stripes onto the metal tins. 8
Step 8: add all the decorative elements.
Here you go! Your little ones can use these 3-in-1 boxes as pencil holders, storages boxes or a secret hiding place, they can stack them on top of each other, separate them…
