In our imagination, Christmas is associated with snow. Far from the ski resorts, snow is rare in France at this time of the year. However, snow can be brought into your home with a unique item: the snow globe! This timeless element can enclose Santa Claus, a tree, a famous monument and any figurine of your choice. If you want to immerse your children in the magic of Christmas with a shower of snowflakes, don’t wait any longer and organise a DIY snow globe workshop. Your kids will have fun creating their own snow globe and will be proud to decorate the house just like they did with the window stickers!

For this DIY workshop you will need:  

  • A clean, dry glass jar with its lid  
  • A figurine of your choice  
  • Acrylic paint and a paintbrush: it’s up to you to choose the colours you want!  
  • Glycerine (that you can find in pharmacies)  
  • Waterproof glue  
  • Glitter  
  • A large glass of water

Step 1: Paint the lid of the jar.

Step 2: Glue the figure to the inside of the lid.

Step 3: Add glitter to the jar.

Step 4: Fill the jar with water and add a few drops of glycerine to make the glitter float.

Step 5: Slowly put the figure stuck to the lid into the jar. Some water may spill out.

Step 6: Close the jar with the lid, turn it upside down and apply glue around the lid.

Step 7: Your snow globe is now airtight, so all you have to do is enjoy the show!

Your Christmas snow globes will blend in perfectly with your Christmas decoration!
