Who doesn’t love a little fur ball that purrs under our strokes?

This week, we’re pleasing our kids by making this cute little cat head-shaped cushion.

No need to be the worldwide champion of sewing for this one: just follow the steps of this simple DIY!

For this DIY, you will need:

  • our free template that you can download below
  • fabric of your liking
  • felt
  • padding
  • sewing thread
  • a needle
  • scissors
  • a ruler
  • and…a marker

DIY Cushion
Step 1: start by printing the templates of the cushion and features. Cut out the oval shape and use it to outline two oval shapes on the fabric (the non-visible side).

Step 2: cut out the 2 oval shapes in the fabric. These pieces will be the head.

Step 3: with the template, cut out the triangle and circles into the felt to make the facial features. Of course, you can cut out the shapes of your liking!

Step 4: sew the felt eyes and beak with 2mm stitches.

Step 5: then, put the two oval fabric shapes on one another, the face turned towards the inside. Then, hold the edges with some clips. At 1cm from the edge, start sewing the two fabrics together with 5mm stitches.

Step 6: be careful to let 10 cm without stitches to add the padding.

Step 7: and now, you can flip over your cushion.

Step 8: and here comes the fun part... by padding the cushion!

Step 9: finally, fold the edges on the inside of the cushion and sew by doing small stitches.

Step 10: using the template, cut out the cat's ears.

Step 11: add the ears to the cushion with 2mm stitches.

Step 12: and now you have a cute cat cushion to cuddle!
