Winter holidays are back! And to entertain our kids, here’s a simple tutorial

to learn how to sew and make a felt sleeping mask.

So practical for long car rides!

For this DIY, you will need:

  • our template that you can download below
  • beige, white, black and pink felt
  • black and white thread
  • a needle
  • scissors
  • an elastic band
  • and…a marker

DIY Sleeping Mask
Step 1: begin by printing and cutting out the bunny and dog mask template. Then, with a thin marker, outline the mask shapes on the felts.

Step 2: for the dog mask, cut out the head in some white felt, the ears and eye in beige felt and the snout and eyelashes in black.

Step 3: for the bunny, the head and the big ears in beige felt, the inside of the ears in white felt, the bow and the snout in pink felt, and finally, the eyelashes in black.

Step 4: with white thread, sew the ears, the beige eye on the dog mask and the bow and snout on the bunny mask.

Step 5: here's how it looks before assembling!

Step 6: then, with black thread, sew the top of the eyelashes on each mask and the snout on the dog mask.

Step 7: turn the masks over, the head facing the table. Place the ears (at the top for the bunny, on the sides for the dog), then sew the second part of the mask to make a lining.

Step 8: to finish, don't forget to sew an elastic band on each side of the masks with a few stitches.
