Today, we are preparing for the Easter weekend. A lot of chocolate eggs will be hidden in the garden!

Here’s a quick guide to make a pretty gift bag, shaped as an Easter bunny.

DIY for Kids: Easter Gift Pouch - Rabbit

For this DIY, you will need:

  • a free printable A4 template to download below
  • 1 sheet of white felt (could also be grey or beige)
  • 1 little piece of hook and loop tape
  • grey and pink thread
  • 1 needle
  • 1 pair of scissors
  • and… 1 pencil or a ball-point pen
  • optional: 80 cm of string, 1 toothpick and a crochet hook

Step 1: print and cut out the template.

Step 2: place the template on the felt and draw the contours with a pencil or a pen.

Step 3: cut out the shape. After, fold it along the lines as shown in the template to create a bag,

Step 4: start by stitching the two flaps (left and right) together and then stitch the bottom flap on top of the two already attached.

Step 5: glue a piece of the hook and loop tape inside the top flap (near the edge). Then, glue the second part of the tape on the lower part of the bag.

Step 6: after, stitch the eyes with a grey thread to make two dotted lines (3 or 4 stitches each) as seen in the template.

Step 7: for the nose, use the pink thread and stitch with a double thread to make a cross - repeat that two times.

Step 8: all you need to do is add a string if you wish to make a handbag or a bag-necklace.

Step 9: let the Easter eggs hunt begin!

Tip: You can use a tootpick to make the two holes on the back of the bag and a crochet hook to put the string through and make a knot on each end inside the bag.

Voilà, your little one’s Easter eggs bag is ready and you can go on a chocolate eggs hunt!
